“Snow, are you alright?” In front of her was Zex’s face, looking worried.
“Did you have a bad dream? You seemed to be tossing and turning…”
‘How long had I been asleep?’
Night had already fallen, and the room was illuminated by the light of a candlestick.
Zex had finished his bath and changed into black sleepwear.
The gloom from the dream lingered, but the moment Sharon saw Zex, all those feelings vanished.
‘…W-Where am I supposed to look?!’
The neckline was loose, and the thin fabric made his well-trained, muscular build obvious.
Embarrassed, Sharon instinctively covered her eyes with her wings.
In her life until now, she’d never seen a man in his nightwear.
Of course, she’d never even interacted with a man.
For Sharon, Zex’s defenseless appearance was just too much stimulation.
She might be a Little Bird right now, but inside, she was still a naïve girl.
‘I-I’m fine, so please just go to bed already!’
Even so, Zex went and said something even more outrageous.
“Snow… why don’t we sleep together?”
Sharon was so shocked, she forgot to cover her eyes.
‘Wh-What, sleep together…!? That’s impossible!’
For a young woman to share a bed with a man she wasn’t even engaged to before marriage—it was indecent.
Sharon shook her head vigorously from side to side.
“It must be lonely to sleep alone after a nightmare, right?”
At those words, Sharon froze.
Why was it that, despite not understanding her language, Zex seemed to see right through her?
He always said just the words she needed, exactly when she needed them.
He was talking to a Little Bird.
There couldn’t possibly be any impure motives on Zex’s part.
“Come on, here.” Saying that, Zex reached out his hand.
If she refused here, she would surely hurt him.
Besides, the face of her mother twisted in hatred from her dream wouldn’t leave her mind.
While she was still a Little Bird, maybe she could be a little spoiled.
Timidly, Sharon climbed onto Zex’s palm.
‘Kyaa~~~~!’
Zex’s face was close.
So close.
A straight nose, sharp eyes.
His dignified features were handsome and striking.
Those indigo eyes gently reflected the Little Bird.
Realizing she was seeing Zex as a man, Sharon’s heart began to race.
‘It really is impossible, I don’t think my heart can take this!’
As she edged backwards, her escape was blocked by Zex’s large palm.
He guided her closer to him.
The bed was wide enough for three people to sleep on.
And yet, for some reason, Sharon’s place to sleep was right by Zex’s pillow.
‘Ah… Even when sleeping, he doesn’t take off his gloves and Ring.’
On both of Zex’s hands were black gloves, and on his left hand was a Ring.
Looking at the large red Gemstone set into the Ring, Sharon felt a strange unease in her chest.
As if something faint and black was settling there, Sharon instinctively brushed at it with her wing.
‘Huh? Was I just imagining things?’ She thought something like dust was floating, but with no resistance, it disappeared.
Zex narrowed his eyes kindly at the Little Bird, who tilted her head in confusion.
“Snow, you’re the cutest in the world.”
It wasn’t just a doting parent—it was a doting owner mode.
Having such straightforward affection directed at her, Sharon’s heart pounded even harder.
When Zex moved his hand, she braced herself to be petted again, but his hand stopped in midair.
‘What’s wrong?’
At this point, she didn’t mind being petted.
Sharon, of her own accord, touched Zex’s hesitant hand.
Even through the glove, she could feel his flustered tension.
“Is it alright…?”
When she nodded, Zex’s hand wrapped gently around her body.
‘Eh, eh? Eeeeh!?’
Instead of petting, he pressed his cheek against her fluffy body.
“Snow, you’re so warm.”
She couldn’t escape even if she tried, and could only let it happen.
But seeing the look of utter contentment on Zex’s face, her urge to resist faded away.
Though his body was muscular and hard, his cheek was surprisingly soft.
And his skin was cool to the touch.
Maybe he’d gotten cold from the winter air.
If he wanted to warm himself with a Little Bird, so be it.
‘Just do as you like… I’m a Little Bird right now, after all.’
Thanks to Zex, she had completely forgotten about her nightmare.
